COFFEE CAPERSLooks inviting doesn't it! Yep like most people of western society I NEED my coffee. Every day that I remember, I've taken my early morning trip to the cafe (usually Bevande, Windsor). It is so much part of my ritual, my day, the raison d'etre of my existence ! (Well almost!)
I have a Chinese flat mate. When I say Chinese I mean Chinese not Chinese Australian, and like most things, he doesn't understand what I do at all ! It's all very foreign to him.
However in parts of South East Asia coffee is very much part of their lives. My BEST coffee experience ever was in LAOS. Yes LAOS. Once part of Indo-China the French brought coffee and coissants to this country and they're never left.
I'll never forget one memorable morning when the guesthouse served up this wonderful brew. They use this wire type net to strain the coffee through. Of course while I was there I bought the sieve and the coffee and tried it at home. ATLAS it's not the same ! AND I can't get Laos coffee here I have to go the central market in ADELAIDE !
I dream of going back to LAOS for many reasons, not least the wonderful people and their innocent ways, but also for the coffee experience. BRING IT ON !
What's your great coffee experiences? Go on make a comment and tell us all.
